Review:
Korede is the eldest sister, and Ayoola is the youngest. I can describe the relationship between the two sisters as a toxic relationship. Korede has appointed herself as the guardian angel to Ayoola. It appears that she burdens the responsibility to protect Ayoola and gives an excuse for what she had done by killing her boyfriend. Also, I have noticed the weakness and uselessness in Korede’s act against the crimes and the sense of guilt by helping her sister cover the crimes instead of reporting it to the authorities or asking for serious help for Ayoola.
From my side, it appeared that Ayoola suffered from a severe mental illness; maybe she is a psychopath or sociopath, but the mercilessness and apathetic reaction after committing her crimes are unbearable.
The book doesn't explain much about the background of the sisters or the family, only a few explanations of their relationship with their father, which might be a considerable link between Ayoola and her choice of boyfriends. Another thing that bothers me is the relationship between Mokhtar and Korede; what kind of relationship is this? I’m still confused :/
However, I finished the book in two days. I enjoyed the book, it was easy-going and easy to track, but I would appreciate it more if there were more explanations of Ayoola's acts and her childhood life and background since I am disappointed by the end of the story. However, this doesn't mean the book isn't any good. It is worth reading.
